Ydessa Hendeles: The Art of Metaphor
This month marks the 20th anniversary of Ydessa Hendeles’s ground-breaking exhibition "Partners", which opened on November 7, 2003, at the Haus der Kunst in Munich. By invitation of the incoming director, Chris Dercon, and his chief curator, Thomas Weski, the 16-gallery exhibition combined works by Diane Arbus, Maurizio Cattelan, James Coleman, Hanne Darboven, Walker Evans, Luciano Fabro, Paul McCarthy, On Kawara, Giulio Paolini, Bruce Nauman, Jeff Wall, and Lawrence Weiner together with vintage photographs, an antique toy and Hendeles’s own works, including "Partners (The Teddy Bear Project)", 2002.

Jacopo Crivelli Visconti: the human condition
To mark Artissima in Turin, we interviewed art critic and curator Jacopo Crivelli Visconti. Visconti is a curatorial advisor for the fair, as well as curator of "the human condition", a project of films and videos by artists formulated and produced in dialogue with Gallerie d’Italia – Torino, the host location.

Visconti was born in Naples, Italy and is now based in São Paulo, Brazil. His book Novas Derivas (New Drifts) was published in Portuguese by WMF Martins Fontes and in Spanish by Ediciones Metales Pesados. He ha curated many exhibitions and institutional projects, including: Com o coração saindo pela boca, Brazilian Pavilion at the 59ª Biennale di Venezia, Italy (2022) and Faz escuro mas eu canto, 34ª Bienal de São Paulo, Brazil (2020-2021).
